^This is a book about a girl named Nicki who is an orphan and is also a trouble-maker. She grew up stealing for a living and has several charges on her permanent record. She is soon offered a chance to completely erase her previous life and start over by participating in a witness protection program. She has to pose as a second child for a family that is in grave danger. This is a sweet and suspenseful book. The end is a little scary but it is fun to read.
