^This is a series that is connected to Land of Stories but not directly. It is set in a world where magic exists but is considered evil. The kingdoms punish fairies and witches. Brystal, a young girl who discovers a talent for magic is soon recruited to a school that was founded to train fairies. There she meets fairies much like herself, and they go on a dangerous journey to rescue their teacher, Celeste Weatherberry, from the snow queen who is terrorising their land.

As the series continues, we see different villains and challenges turn up and it is fun and interesting. My favourite one remains to be the first book, but I also enjoyed the third book titled, A Tale of Sorcery.
