Daughter of the Deep

Rick Riordian

This is a book written by Rick Riordan. It is not related to the Percy Jackson series. This book is a twisted sequel to the Jules Verne classic, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea.

Anna Dakkar is a second-year student at the prestigious Harding-Pencroft Academy. After a huge tragedy destroys her beloved home, Anna is left as the last living descendant of the legendary Captain Nemo. Anna and her forty classmates must uncover the secrets their school, friends and even family have buried for centuries.

I think it might be more fun to read this book after reading 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea. This book is science fiction, and I recommend it for 11-14-year-olds, since it gets a little violent. If you have a problem with blood and gore, you should not read this book.
