^This is an abridged version of the Indian classic. It is a very gory and long story that will have you questioning everyone’s morals by the end. This is a story of family rivalries and how a small insult can lead to a war costing millions their lives. It is interesting how this entire epic has been told in many different ways throughout history, and there are still details that are uncertain and differ in each book. This book is a little simplified and does not add the complexity of each character which is a major part of the Mahabharata. If you want to introduce your kids to Indian mythology, this is a great read.
