This series is about a boy named Percy who learns that he is the son of the Greek god Posiedon. He goes to Camp Halfblood, a place where demigods like him can live without getting killed by monsters who are otherwise after them. Percy soon finds himself involved in a 1000-year-old war between his family of gods and their parents, the titans. With his friends Annabeth and Grover, Percy must fulfil his destiny to save Olympus or destroy it.
There are many other series after this one based on the same characters and my favourite would be the ‘Heroes of Olympus’ series. These books aren’t exactly what I would call great literature, but I did enjoy reading them. I would like to remind readers that these books are not true to the original Greek stories of mythology; for instance, I doubt Posiedon would be roaming around in Hawain shorts.
The movies of this series are terrible and nothing like the books. There is going to be a new series of Percy, Annabeth and Grovers adventures and one on Nico Di Angelo, the son of Hades and an ally of Percy during both wars.
