This is a graphic novel. Cece Bell was a healthy child, but an illness soon took away her hearing. This book is based on the author's own life, but in the book, there are rabbits instead of people. I feel that this is because the rabbit ears make the hearing aid more visible, since hair would cover her ears. The book starts with Cece moving from her old school, where everyone was hearing impaired, to a new school. She has to wear a huge hearing aid. Cece develops a dependence on her hearing aid, and soon, she feels insecure without it. This book is about Cece's journey to maturity and acceptance. I found it to be an interesting read.
