^This is a piece of non-fiction. It reads like a school textbook. I am told that very often in England, children are not taught about their own colonial history, or it is taught in a way that only glorifies the British. My grandmother, who is British, found the adult version of this book interesting. I felt it was not really an engaging read, but I did learn many things that I didn't know.
